Users receive prompt to cross-certify when accessing message sent by DWA user

When an IBM Lotus Notes Client user running release 6.5.4 or later accesses a message sent by an IBM Lotus Domino Web Access (DWA) user, they may receive a prompt to cross-certify with the DWA server. What can cause this prompt to appear.

This prompt will occur if the DWA sender accesses their database via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and the recipient's Notes Client does not have the Internet Certificate for the DWA server in their personal address book. The prompt will usually occur if the DWA user is sending a Reply with History.

When a user sends a Reply with History, a doclink for the original message is included in the message header. Because the DWA user is accessing their database via a web browser, this link references the original message with an Internet URL (https://) rather than a Notes URL (Notes://). If the server is configured for SSL, and the recipient's personal address book does not have the Internet Certificate for the server, then the user will be prompted to add the certificate.
