Repeating calendar entries with alarms enabled stop sending alarm notifications intermittently over a period of time, even though the Calendar entries have the "Notify Me" checkbox selected.
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# KWON66EPKZ and was addressed in Notes/Domino 6.5.4.
